Welcome to Lightbridge Academy of Durham, NC! Congratulations on taking your first step to a quality educational program for your child. We are conveniently located off Highway 885 & Ellis Road in the Ellis Crossing Marketplace. It our pleasure to welcome you into our home away from home. I am Miranda the Senior Center Director at Lightbridge Academy’s Durham Child Care Center. It will be my pleasure to meet you all and share all the wonderful things you and your kiddos will experience as part of the Lightbridge Academy’s Circle of Care. Personally, I have over 25 years of experience in Childcare working with Infants, Toddlers, Preschool and Pre-K kiddos. I love them all! My education leadership journey began at a daycare school in Michigan. I started as a preschool teacher, then moved to curriculum design, and went on to train teachers how to implement my educational ideas. I was born and raised in Michigan then attended Western Michigan University where I received my degree in Family Studies/Child development. After graduation I moved to Raleigh, NC and continued my journey in different types of leadership roles. While in NC I attended Capella University for my Masters in Mental Health Counseling. Eighteen years later, I still live in Raleigh, with my partner, Antre, my daughter Adalyn who will be a rising 2nd grader and my bonus son Jr. who is a rising 3rd grader. We also have a dog, Leele that keeps us busy, and but gives me an excuse to take long walks. In my free time you will often find me on a field supporting my kids in their extracurricular activities, gardening (it is a new hobby of mine, so I welcome any advice on growing flowers and fruits/vegetables). I have a passion for travel, spending time with family and friends, and entertaining. My favorite children’s book it “I Am Enough” by Grace Byers.
