Welcome to our Indian Land, SC educational child care center
David and Julie Walker are Fort Mill residents with a shared passion for supporting families through high-quality early childhood education. David was born and raised in Rock Hill, SC and earned his bachelor’s degree in business, while Julie is originally from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and a master’s degree in business. The two met in college and went on to build both their family and their professional lives together. Together, they bring extensive early childcare experience and prior experience as business owners, combining strong operational leadership with a deep understanding of child development.
As parents to a son and daughter, David and Julie’s decision to open Lightbridge Academy of Indian Land is deeply personal. Having experienced the impact of preschool firsthand through their own children, they have seen the lasting benefits of early social and educational development—from learning how to navigate relationships to developing communication skills such as sign language before forming full sentences. As the Fort Mill and Indian Land areas continue to grow, David and Julie are committed to bringing families a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment where children are prepared for kindergarten and parents can feel confident knowing their children are learning, growing, and thriving each day.
Lightbridge Academy of Indian Land proudly serves families throughout Indian Land, Fort Mill, Ballantyne, Sun City, and the greater Lancaster County community. Conveniently located near the intersection of Fort Mill Hwy and Charlotte Hwy, our center provides easy access for families searching for trusted daycare or preschool programs.
Whether you’re looking for childcare, preschool, or early education programs in Indian Land, Lightbridge Academy is here to welcome your family with open arms.

Hello! My name is Elizabeth Lee, and I am proud to serve as Center Director. My journey working with children began in 2003, and my passion for education led me to earn a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Since graduating, I have gained valuable experience working in licensed centers in both North and South Carolina. Before joining Lightbridge Academy, I held the position of Assistant Director in Fort Mill, after teaching in almost every classroom in the building. I have a deep love for the fine arts and enjoy expressing my creativity through painting, designing, and decorating. These interests enrich my approach to education and inspire me to foster creativity in the children and staff I work with. I currently reside in Fort Mill with my husband, Mitchell; we have three wonderful children and a family dog, Ozzie.
My vision for Lightbridge Academy is to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where every child feels valued and empowered to learn and grow. We aim to prepare each child for a bright future by supporting their unique needs and celebrating their individual strengths. Through compassionate care and engaging educational experiences, we will be a trusted partner for families and a positive influence in the community.
