Welcome to Lightbridge Academy! Thank you for taking the time to explore our center. My name is Michelle Abuel and I am the Director of the Timonium center. I was a teenage girl when I realized I had a passion for teaching. I started as a volunteer at an elementary school, which consisted of aiding the children in reading and other social skills. After that experience, I decided to start my career as a teacher! After eight years of teaching, I was promoted to an administrative position and given a scholarship through MSDE. I finished my BA in Early Childhood and Liberal Arts – Elementary at Notre Dame of Maryland and was awarded the Lavinia Wenger Award in the School of Education. I also hold my Level 6 Credential and Coaching and Mentoring Certificate. Overall, I want to share my years of learning in ECE and Elementary to support everyone’s goals, milestones, and dreams. I am pleased to be given the opportunity to be your director and lead such an amazing community.

The Chandarana, Patel, Somaysula, and Kommana Families are excited to grow Lightbridge’s Circle of Care and provide top level education and care to the local families. We understand the difficulties faced by the working family and we look forward to partnering with you for this journey. We offer the flexibility of 2, 3, or 5 days per week for children ages 6 weeks through Preschool/Pre-K. We cannot wait to meet you and welcome you into our Lightbridge Family!

A note from the owners:

We are a partnership of four exciting families who are passionate about making a difference through the amazing opportunity of early childhood education. We come from varied backgrounds and have found common agreement in growing our already very strong bond of friendship of four years even further by helping each other prosper through our collective interest of helping happy families by taking care of their most important treasures i.e., their children. To achieve our objectives, we have found a great company in Lightbridge with tremendous values. Most of our kids have also been part of the Lightbridge family and we were so impressed with the way they run their system that we decided to be in business with them. With strong prospects in our careers as well as the opportunities for business in the Northern VA and MD markets, we have decided to operate multiple centers out of that market with a wish to eventually settle down in those areas.
