Meet Tammy Hicks, Center Director!
Tammy Hicks brings a wealth of experience and passion for Early Childhood Education to Lightbridge Academy of Wake Forest, NC. A Raleigh native, Tammy earned her Master’s degree in Birth-Kindergarten Education from UNCG in 2008 and has dedicated her career to nurturing young learners and supporting families. As Center Director, Tammy is committed to leading a team of highly skilled early childhood professionals and creating a warm, inclusive environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Meet Amanda Brown, Assistant Director!
Amanda Brown brings nearly two decades of experience in early childhood education and a passion for creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young learners. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and is a Level II Administrator certified through Stanly Community College. Dedicated to supporting educators and building strong family connections, Amanda strives to foster a collaborative space where children can explore, learn, and thrive.

We’re Shelby and Brian Kachel, proud local owners with a combined 40 years of experience as IT executives. Our passion for problem-solving and making a positive impact inspired us to bring Lightbridge Academy to this community. When we moved back to the area in 2021 with our then 3-year-old daughter, Londyn, we recognized a growing need for high-quality early childhood education in Wake Forest. Lightbridge Academy’s unwavering focus on safety, security, and exceptional education stood out to us as the perfect solution for local families.
Family is at the heart of everything we do. Whether we’re cruising, visiting Disney, or just spending quality time together, we cherish every moment as a family.
